Case

Vincent Laforet:
One of things I’ve learnt all over decades ago, I have to go to the time-life archives. In the contact sheets from Henri Cartier Bresson, we see the stairwells and men going by. And Everyone assumes that they are just walking around, point the camera and everything comes together. If you see Bresson’s contact sheets, it’s twenty over frames of the exactly same spiral. He was just waiting there for that one like the shot in the other timing.
People think that photographers are all about “click” “click” you capture, but a lot of time you have your frames very much in line and you are waiting for things to come in place.
And the better and better you get out of it, the better you get to predicting people’s natural movement.

Vincent Laforet
